Course information
The standard college entry requirements for all HE courses are: a pass at a relevant level 3 qualification or 32-48 UCAS points.
Students should also hold English and maths at GCSE grade 4 or above (or level 2 Functional Skills).

- Fundamentals of Laboratory Techniques
- Scientific Data Handling Approaches and Techniques
- Regulation and Quality in the Applied Sciences
- Cell Biology
- Fundamentals of Chemistry
- Anatomy and Human Physiology
Specialist units:
- Fundamentals of Biochemistry
- Microbiological Techniques
This course is assignment-based.
Pearson BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Applied Sciences (Biology).
Career progression:
Technician Scientist, Laboratory Technician, Research Technician, Science Technician
Course progression:
- On completion of the course students can progress to the Level 5 HND in Applied Sciences (Biology).
- Top-up to a full degree at a University
