Advanced Beauty Therapy (Access to Aesthetics)This course is designed as an entry into Beauty Therapy and the world of aesthetics. You will study anatomy & physiology, theoretical knowledge and the practical skills in a range of advanced beauty therapy techniques.
The advanced beauty certificate includes: Body Massage, Advanced Facial Electrotherapy treatments and a look into the technological developments within the hair and beauty industry. This qualification will provide employment opportunities in beauty and is an excellent access course enabling further study onto Level 4. This City & Guilds international certificate provides the verification for self-employment as well as to work in salons or spas locally or abroad.

Entry requirements
Essential: Evidence of studying at GCSE level 3 or above.
Desirable: Ability to be self-motivated with home study requirements and experience of working with clients in a salon environment.
What qualification will I gain?
City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Beauty Therapy
How will I be assessed?
- Formative and summative assessments are completed against the City & Guilds criteria where you will gain pass, merit or distinction in the practical treatments.
- On-line multiple-choice end of unit tests assess the theory aspects of the course.
- Presentations of researched topics.

- 302 – Health & Safety in the salon
- 304 – Promote and sell products & services to clients
- 305 – Provide Body Massage
- 306 – Provide facial electrotherapy treatments
- 332 – Explore technological developments within hair, beauty and associated areas
