Adult Functional Skills Maths: Entry Level, Level 1 & Level 2Need to improve your Maths? Would you like to be able to help your kids with their homework and learn the latest teaching methods they encounter? Need Level 2 Maths as an entry requirement for further studies? Do you just want to Brush Up your skills? These courses allow you to work towards one of the five levels to improve your job prospects and prepare for further study (there are three entry Levels plus Level 1 and Level 2).
Course Information
You do not need any qualifications to start this course; however you must be 19 or over, a UK/EEA citizen and have a minimum Level 1 ability in spoken English. You will be asked to attend a short informal interview and undertake a free assessment before your course starts to help determine your existing skills and level.
During the course you will cover topics including:
- Number
- Shape and Space
- Handling Data
- Measurement
Depending upon the level at which you study, you will be entered for a Pearson Functional Skills qualification, available from Entry Level 1 to Level 2.
Successful completion of this course leads to a nationally-recognised qualification which can help you to gain employment or access further learning programmes.
You can enrol in either September or January and will need to attend College for a minimum of two hours per week during the morning, afternoon or evening. Initial assessments (placement interviews) take place throughout the year. You will need to bring a calculator and a ruler to each lesson.
You will need to pay a £30 resources fee to enrol on the course.
