Two girls who benefited from the course were Frances Fletcher and Saffire Chilton.
Before joining the Team programme Frances was unemployed and lacking confidence. She has now been offered a two week work placement at Ricoh UK. Frances was community project leader for the garden refurbishment and she blossomed. “I was stuck in a rut, but this course made me find skills I didn’t know I had.”
Saffire was homeless and had been in and out of hospital. She now has an interview with Ricoh UK. “I enjoyed the Revitalise activity. It was the best experience of the course as it pushed me to interact with people.”
Cheryl Needham who is the Head of Department for Adult and Foundation Learning said: “These Team courses give young people access to opportunities that had missed earlier during their school years. We hope that The Bedford College Group is going to expand our work here in Northamptonshire into Bedfordshire.”
