Supporting careers and employment across Wellingborough
More than 400 people attended a recent Recruitment, Skills and Careers Event at Tresham College in Wellingborough, bringing together employers, jobseekers and students to explore job vacancies, career options and training opportunities.
Tresham College, part of The Bedford College Group, hosted the event in partnership with Wellingborough Jobcentre Plus and North Northamptonshire Council. It welcomed approximately 310 members of the public and 100 students, with 27 employers and organisations taking part.
Visitors had the opportunity to meet employers face to face, ask questions about potential careers and find out more about the vacancies and training available across a range of industries.
Connecting visitors with leading employers
Among those attending was Amazon, Kier Group, Fox Resourcing & Recruitment, the Royal Navy, ISS Facility Services UK and North Northamptonshire Council, representing sectors including construction, recruitment, public services and facilities management. Amazon attracted particular interest from visitors on the day.
The event also brought together organisations working in areas such as care, education and employment support, giving visitors the chance to explore different career paths and speak to people working within those sectors.
Alongside employment opportunities, visitors could find out more about apprenticeships, T Levels, part-time courses and other training options, whether they were looking to gain new qualifications, develop existing skills or take a different career direction.
Tresham College also used the event to highlight the education and training available through The Bedford College Group, including routes for adults looking to return to learning or improve their employment prospects.
Cheryl Needham, Head of Adult & Community Learning at Tresham College, said:
“Working in partnership with Wellingborough Jobcentre Plus and North Northamptonshire Council, the event brought together hundreds of people from across our community to meet employers, explore career options and find out about the opportunities available to them.
