In addition, Weetabix manufacturing apprentice Katie Lines was shortlisted in a national Food and Drink Federation Award.

Katie, studies at Tresham College Kettering campus as part of her training with the international company Weetabix based nearby.

“Katie has made great progress since joining us and it’s well deserved recognition of her hard work and quick thinking” said Weetabix on the company’s Linked In profile.

Weetabix has a close working relationship with Tresham College, now part of The Bedford College Group. Previously the college has won Weetabix’s own awards for special service.

Georgina Ager, Vice Principal for the college group said: “Having such a major employer as Weetabix in our community, sets the bar high for employers and employees.

Being able to match up to their superior standards in terms of working with young talent, and meeting their management expectations overall,  continues to be a great learning experience for us as a college. From that improved position, we can better support other employers who strive to meet international standards, as the UK takes advantage of wider training opportunities.
