Tresham College, part of The Bedford College Group, partnered with Jobcentre Plus and North Northamptonshire Council to host a successful Recruitment, Skills & Careers Event at the College’s Wellingborough campus last week.
This brought together employers, students and local residents for an afternoon focused on careers, skills development and employment opportunities.
The event attracted strong attendance from college students, job seekers and members of the wider Wellingborough community, all eager to explore potential career paths, gain valuable industry insight and connect directly with employers from a wide range of sectors.
Hundreds of job opportunities from across Wellingborough, the surrounding area and beyond were showcased throughout the event, highlighting the breadth of roles currently available. Attendees had the opportunity to speak face-to-face with employers, learn about training and progression options, and access advice on employability skills and career planning.
A range of employers
A diverse range of national and local employers attended the event, including Lloyds Bank, Microsoft, the British Army, Royal Navy Submarine Service, Tesco, Shared Lives, Bapon IT Services and Ivolve Care & Support, alongside many other organisations looking to recruit and engage with future talent.
Representatives were on hand throughout the event to discuss vacancies, apprenticeships, training programmes and professional development opportunities, helping attendees gain a clearer understanding of the support and opportunities available locally.
Strong partnerships
The event highlighted the positive impact that strong partnerships between education providers, local authorities and employers can have in supporting local people into meaningful employment while helping businesses connect with skilled talent. Through continued collaboration, Tresham College and its partners are helping to strengthen skills development, career progression and long-term employment opportunities across North Northamptonshire.
