Students across Northamptonshire are celebrating outstanding Level 2 vocational results, with two courses at Tresham College achieving 100% pass rates.
The results come as Prime Minister, Andy Burnham puts a renewed national focus on technical and vocational education, calling for greater recognition of technical routes alongside academic qualifications.
Across Tresham College’s three colleges, two courses achieved 100% pass rates, the NCFE Technical Occupational Entry for the Early Years Practitioner Diploma and the EAL Diploma in Engineering Technologies.
The success across these subjects highlights the variety of technical and vocational opportunities available to young people in Northamptonshire and the different routes students can take towards further study, apprenticeships and employment.
The results follow renewed national focus on the importance of technical and vocational education and calls for young people to have greater access to technical pathways alongside traditional academic routes.
Mark Hughes, Principal of Tresham College said,
“We’re incredibly proud of our students. These results demonstrate not only their hard work, but the variety of technical and vocational education available across Northamptonshire.
“From Early Years to Engineering, these qualifications equip young people with valuable skills and provide strong foundations for their next steps.”
