Tresham College Apprentice Kyra Joy is leading the way in bringing together apprentices from all work disciplines together to share challenges and successes.
She set up the Tresham Apprenticeship Group aimed not only at those employed directly by Tresham College but all within The Bedford College Group and beyond.
The idea was given the official seal of approval by MP Tom Pursglove when he met international employers at the Corby campus of Tresham College and he congratulated Kyra on her initiative.
Kyra is an official Apprenticeship Ambassador for the East Midlands area.
As part of her project, Kyra, who is employed by the Business Development Team at Tresham College, will be joining a range of events as part of National Apprenticeship Week March 4th – 8th.
Newsflash: Kyra has been chosen to visit the House of Commons during this key week. Look out for more on social media.
Tresham College is part of The Bedford College Group, the No 1 provider of apprenticeship across the SEMLEP (South East Midlands) region will be taking part in the National Apprenticeship Show at Milton Keynes on March 12th.
Kyra’s manager Julie Hoult Head of Business Development at Tresham College said:
It is ideal to have an apprentice like Kyra talking direct to young people who want to become apprentices or who want to share ideas and experiences. This is particularly useful if they are the only apprentice in their organisation and don’t have other apprentices to talk to. Equally, by sharing ideas the can see the wider opportunities offered in their roles which may not have been identified by others. These young people are the future of industry in the UK and we welcome their bright ideas.
