The impossible dream comes true

Bedford College Cauldwell Street Campus

Making your dreams come true is the wonderful part of having access to a multi-award-winning “Art College” here in Bedfordshire.

Carli Hall, aged 37 from St Neots, thought she had missed the chance to pursue her creative calling when at 18, life got in the way and she needed to find a job to support herself instead of studying art. Carli made a success of her career in electronic supplies and logistics rising to Head of Supply Chain for an international company.

Carli commented:

I always had this nagging feeling that I needed to go back to being creative. It was a huge step giving up my job – but it was the best thing I have ever done. These have been the happiest three years of my life.

I started on an HNC then stayed for another year to do my HND then for a third to do my full Graphic Communications BA at Bedford College.

Jeffrey Tribe and the team have all been fantastic. Before I met them I thought following my dream was impossible but with their support I have done it.”

Her gamble has paid off as Carli has recently won a number of prestigious commissions showcasing her talent and her work was due to be on show at the D&AD New Blood Festival in London from July 10th – 13th.

Carli continued:
The industry links here at the college are so good –  you get to meet all sorts of people and undertake all sorts of project work.”

During her studies with the College, Carli has won work experience at Bonfire Creative of Bedfordshire, as well as at Initials Marketing in the West End, London, where she designed shirts for a St Neots sports club as well as much more.

To add to Carli’s declaration that her time at college “has been the happiest three years of my life” she is getting married in October and hopes to work for a design agency after that.

Advanced Practitioner at Bedford College, Jeffrey Tribe, who together with his colleagues, has helped thousands of young people pursue their dreams of a career in art and design said:
Carli is a shining example of how accessible Bedford College is to everyone. Our degree level courses are being talked about by creative employers in all the best places. We are a national college, which just happens to be in Bedford.
