The Bedford College Group, which has campuses across Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire, has welcomed Kettering-based IT support and cybersecurity company ITFixio Ltd as its latest Employer Partner.

The company is already working with The Group to recruit a Level 4 Sales Executive apprentice.

The partnership came about after Ian Tinto, Business Engagement Account Manager at The Bedford College Group, met the ITFixio team at local networking events. They initially got talking about apprenticeships and, after meeting several times, began discussing other ways the company could work with The Group and its students.

Employer partner scheme - Fixio

ITFixio provides managed IT support, cybersecurity and cloud services to businesses. The company is keen to get involved, including attending careers events, coming into college to talk to students about careers in the industry and taking part in networking and Q&A sessions.

Nik Gazis, Founder and CEO of ITFixio, said:

“We’re really pleased to become an Employer Partner and are looking forward to getting involved. We want to talk to students about our industry and show them the range of jobs within it, while hopefully being able to take on more apprentices as our business grows.”

ITFixio has expressed a particular interest in meeting Business students at Tresham College, as well as looking at other ways it can work with students across The Bedford College Group.

Through The Bedford College Group’s Employer Partnership Scheme, employers commit to supporting a range of activities throughout the academic year, giving students more opportunities to work with employers, learn about different careers and understand what businesses are looking for.

Employer Partners can get involved in different ways, including careers events, talks, apprenticeships and other activities with students.

Rachel Roberts, Partnership Manager at The Bedford College Group said:

“Our Employer Partners give students the chance to hear directly from businesses and find out what different industries are really like and the routes they could take after college. We’re really pleased to welcome ITFixio and look forward to working with them throughout the year.”

As ITFixio grows, the company hopes to take on more apprentices and continue its work with The Bedford College Group.
