The Bedford College Group will play a prominent role at this year’s UK Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF), taking place from 19–21 May 2026 at the Royal Armouries Museum and New Dock, Leeds.
Recognised as one of the UK’s leading events for real estate, investment and infrastructure, UKREiiF brings together national and regional leaders from government, business, education and industry to drive investment, regeneration and sustainable economic growth across the UK.
Representing The Bedford College Group across the three-day programme will be CEO Yiannis Koursis OBE and Dr Robin Webber-Jones, Deputy CEO and Executive Director of Curriculum, both of whom will participate in and chair panel discussions focused on the future of construction skills and workforce development.
Sam Egan, Group Director CTEC at The Bedford College Group, has also played a key role in shaping and coordinating a series of sessions taking place across the three-day event, while also leading a workshop during the conference.
Developed collectively with the CTEC network, the programme brings together expertise from further education leaders across the country who are directly involved in delivering construction skills training on the ground. It has been designed to connect policy ambition with employer demand and real delivery capability, highlighting what is working well, where challenges remain and how the sector can scale impact at pace.
Across the event, discussions will focus on securing a sustainable construction skills pipeline at a time of acute workforce pressure, raising quality and consistency in construction education nationally, the role of employers in shaping provision, how FE collaboration can move from competition to coordinated delivery, and creating clear, credible progression routes into higher-level and future skills. The sessions will feature senior leaders from further education, national employers, sector bodies, local and strategic authorities and central government.
Sam Egan, Group Director CTEC at The Bedford College Group, said:
“UKREiiF provides an important opportunity to bring together education, industry and government to address the construction skills challenge collaboratively. What makes this programme particularly powerful is that it has been shaped collectively through the national CTEC network, drawing on the real-world experience of FE leaders and employers across the country. The conversations we are facilitating are focused not only on identifying the challenges facing the sector, but on showcasing practical solutions and scalable approaches that can genuinely strengthen the future workforce pipeline.”
Yiannis Koursis OBE, CEO of The Bedford College Group, added:
“Further education has a critical role to play in supporting national infrastructure ambitions and economic growth. Through our involvement at UKREiiF, we are proud to contribute to discussions that are shaping the future of construction skills, employer partnerships and workforce development across the UK.”
