General Manager of the Bedford Swan Hotel, Malcolm Wyse stepped up to accept the artwork as it perfectly summed up the work being undertaken by his team to support sustainability.
“As a team we are trying to help out with examples throughout the property, non-plastic straws for cocktails and biodegradable bathroom products are obvious ones, we have installed advanced processing equipment to dramatically improve our waste recycling, our exciting hotel refurbishment also introduces building energy efficiencies whilst recycling good quality furniture to local charities. Small details such as planting 80 bee-friendly lavender plants demonstrates our contribution towards conserving, protecting and enjoying our beautiful riverside location.

Emily added: “I didn’t want the artwork to go to waste and to have it put on show at the Bedford Swan Hotel is just perfect.”
Emily, from Rushden, is now off to Southampton Solent University to study Advertising.
