Pride in Dunstable is set to return, bringing a vibrant day of entertainment and community spirit to the town.
Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, Central Bedfordshire College is once again partnering with volunteers from Dunstable Town Council to deliver a day that’s welcoming to all. With a focus on family-friendly fun and accessibility, the event aims to create a space where people of all ages can come together and celebrate.
This year’s theme, Natural World, will be reflected across the day’s activities, encouraging people to connect with both nature and each other in a relaxed and uplifting setting.
Taking place on Saturday, 9th of May at Grove Park, Dunstable, and sponsored by Essity, a leading global hygiene and health company, the event promises to be bigger and better than last year, with an expanded programme of entertainment and activities.
Susan Hadfield, Principal of Central Bedford College said:
“We’re incredibly proud to be supporting Pride in Dunstable once again. As a College at the heart of the community, it’s important for us to help create an environment where everyone feels welcome, valued and able to be themselves. Pride in Dunstable is a fantastic opportunity to bring people together, celebrate diversity and show our support for the LGBTQ+ community. After the success of last year, we’re excited to build on that and take this year’s event to the next level.”
The day will begin with a short procession from Central Bedfordshire College at 12:45pm, making its way to the Grove Park Bandstand, where the main event will run from 1pm to 5pm.
Visitors can enjoy a lively programme of entertainment, including performances from local talent, DJs and a drag act, showcasing the creativity of the local community.
Alongside the stage programme, there will be a wide range of activities for all ages, including forest bathing sessions, mini fairground attractions, a wellbeing yurt, and a variety of food and drink stalls.
As Pride continues to grow in Dunstable, the event plays an important role in celebrating the area’s LGBTQ+ community and encouraging greater understanding across the town.
Promising an inclusive, family-friendly atmosphere, Pride in Dunstable is set to make its second year a memorable occasion for residents and visitors alike.
