The Bedford College Group has expanded its Employer Partnership Scheme with the addition of sport and childcare provider, Premier Education.
This new collaboration brings together the Group and one of the UK’s leading providers of before and after school clubs, holiday clubs and primary school PE, helping to create exciting new opportunities for students studying in these areas.
Premier Education has delivered sports coaching in schools for more than 20 years and has seen significant growth in its childcare provision over the past six years. With 52 franchises nationwide, the organisation delivers PE, school sport and physical activity programmes, alongside coaching programmes, holiday clubs and wraparound care.
The organisation works closely with schools, acting as an extension of school staff and providing an approved resource for the PE and Sport Premium, helping schools enhance their physical education provision and encourage active lifestyles among pupils. The Kettering based franchise supports more than 32 schools across Northamptonshire and will be working closely with Tresham College.
As part of their involvement, representatives from Premier Education will visit the Tresham College campuses to meet students and discuss career opportunities in the sector. They will showcase progression routes within sports coaching and childcare, including opportunities for professional development and management roles.
The partnership will also provide workshops, work experience placements and part-time job opportunities for students. In the longer term, the collaboration aims to support students into permanent employment or apprenticeships within the industry.
Speaking about the new partnership, Rachel Roberts, Partnership Manager at The Bedford College Group, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome Premier Education to our Employer Partnership Scheme. Partnerships like this play an important role in helping our students understand the opportunities available to them and the skills required to succeed in the workplace. By working with Premier Education, students will gain valuable insight into careers within sports coaching and childcare, as well as access to meaningful work experience and employment opportunities.”
Louis Gray from Premier Education added:
“I’m passionate about supporting young people into the industry. Joining The Bedford College Group Employer Partnership Scheme allows us to showcase the wide range of career pathways available within sports coaching and childcare, while helping students gain the practical experience and confidence they need to succeed.”
By joining the Employer Partnership Scheme, Premier Education has committed to taking part in a range of activities and engagements throughout the academic year. The partnership with The Bedford College Group will help strengthen links between education and industry, supporting students to develop the knowledge, skills and experience needed to move successfully into employment.
