Nollywood Award for Matthew

Bedford College film maker Matthew Jolaosho has won two awards for his film “Battle Within” at the Nollywood film festival in Toronto, Canada.

Best Drama and another, a Jury award as “Best First Feature-Africa”

Matthew’s work was filmed in Nigeria pre-Covid whilst he studied at Bedford, and is about men hiding their mental health problems. It was entered into the Nollywood awards and he was able to travel Toronto and collect his award at the end of October.

“I can’t believe this is happening for my first feature film. I would like to thank my tutor Sean Doyle and all at Bedford College for their amazing support,” said Matthew who describes himself as British and Nigerian and whose motto is: ‘There’s greatness in everyone’.”
