The work of Tresham College has been recognised by MP for Northampton North, Sir Michael Ellis.

Recognising the decades of great work by the Prince’s Trust Team linked to Tresham College, Sir Michael decided to go along and see the work for himself.

Senior Team Leader Paul Hamblin said:

“He visited us in Week 3 of a 12 week course, and he was so impressed with the standard of the teaching and learning during his visit that he invited us to visit the Houses of Parliament at the end of the course. During our visit we met with the Speaker of the Houses of Parliament, who went out of his way to address us all.

“Sir Michael spent time with us and ran a question and answer session. He also joined us for lunch in order to learn about each of the Team members’ hopes and aspirations.

“As a result our visit on Friday 21st July, Sir Michael was so impressed with the learners, he hopes to host Northampton North Teams run by myself at Parliament in the future.

“This has been a huge privilege for both myself and my Team members. This tour was a fantastic journey through our country’s history and a day we will not forget.”

One of the young Team member’s commented:

“I didn’t think this would be for people like me, but it has been a brilliant day.”

Tresham College is part of The Bedford College Group and is sharing its vast expertise in running Prince’s Trust Teams across campuses in Bedfordshire as well as Northamptonshire.

Paul is about to embark on running his 75th Team course in the autumn and will be celebrating 25 years in his role.
