Highlighting the best Bedford has to offer was the task given to Creative Media students at Bedford College to mark Fiver Fest week (runs until October 12th).
Led by lecturer Rhiannon Shades, a group of Level 3 course students met with businesses across the town centre who were taking part in the promotional activity and created a series of mini movies which were then shared on Facebook.
Rhiannon commented:
It was great work experience for our students to work to a brief which is very topical today with all the discussion in the news about town centres.
Over 100 Bedford businesses have taken part in the Fiver Fest, part of a national project to encourage people to visit town centres. The videos can be seen on Town Centre Champions – Bedford own Facebook page.
Bedford College is a major contributor to the economy of the town. It brings thousands of staff and students into the town every week day, offers cut-price car parking at its Cauldwell Street campus after hours and weekends, has been huge contributor to the BedfordBID Love Bedford gift voucher scheme and has supported the Business Improvement District organisation since it was formed in 2005.
