I absolutely adore my time at Tresham,” said Dylan, aged 19 of Corby,

I am always saying to younger students that they need to stay on for the HNC course to get the full benefit of the training offered at earlier levels.

I loved the one to one training and the fact that my lecturers made us understand that as a cast we all have to be as good as we can be – and to do it again and again, just like they would in a real theatre.

We had so many great opportunities for real work experience. I felt as though we were in an environment dedicated completely to the performing arts, a specialist environment.

I really feel as though I am read for Bird College which has been the starting place for some many on stage and screen.

The course Dylan enjoyed is the BTEC HNC/HND in Performing Arts which has been carefully tailored to prepare students for work in the professional industry. They explore a wide range of alternative approaches to acting, as well as the naturalistic and classical acting styles, to develop as a well-rounded performer, building a portfolio of experience vital for auditions. At the end of this course they leave with professional head shots, a voice-over showreel, an actor’s show reel, an actor’s CV and knowledge of how to acquire an agent.

Throughout the course there are lots of opportunities to see live performances and to work with industry professionals on projects, gaining experience and employment connections.

Tresham College lecturers have trained in a wide range of disciplines, including Performing Arts, Musical Theatre, Professional Acting, Drama and Psychology. They  worked as professional performers for stage and screen and have experience of costume design, running arts companies and writing and directing plays.
