Cool shows at college

Bedford College Cauldwell Street Campus

A summer season of displays of work from various courses at Bedford College started on June 7th at the riverside South Bank Arts Centre.

Running until July 5th the design suites will demonstrate a wide range of work by talented fine artists, fashion designers, photographers and graphic students.

At the preview on Friday June 7th adult student Simon Carr of Bedford was displaying his contemporary chair designs. Having followed his heart to return to education and pursue a creative path, Simon will now progress on to the HNC in 3D Design.

Here he is pictured with an ice cream from Gallone’s of The Arcade, Bedford which was on sale at the show to link in with the “cool” theme.

Meanwhile Emily Crowley of Rushden is looking for a home for her work of art linking a Bedford Swan to the world-wide message about how plastic is polluting the planet. Once the Foundation Diploma Art and Design show is over Emily is hoping her swan, made from recycled materials, could be put on display somewhere to keep the message afloat. Emily is now off to Southampton Solent University to study Advertising.
