A team of Tresham College Volleyball players have won an East Midlands Championship to represent our region at a National Tournament in April this year.

The Association of Colleges (AoC) National Championship is the largest annual student sporting event in Europe, with nearly 2,000 college students taking part last year.

Teams from colleges across the country compete in different sports for National trophies and this year Tresham College Volleyball team have won the chance to represent East Midlands.

Our team have trained really hard in preparation for this tournament and now we are looking for some local teams to play against for extra practice.

“If there are any local volleyball clubs out there who would be willing to challenge our students to a match we would be really grateful for the extra practice,” said Sports Lecturer Matt Lambert.

Any local teams that would like to take on the students and help them prepare for the championships in April please email mlambert@bedford.ac.uk.

Tresham College Sports Academy offers Level 2 and 3 Sport and Exercise Studies with dedicated football and rugby academies which see students’ progress to professional teams plus a Foundation Degree course in Sports Science.

There are many career paths open to Sports Studies students including sports data analysis, leisure management, coaching, sports therapy and rehabilitation.

The AoC National Championships are being held at University of Nottingham on 24-26 April.
