Beating universities from across the UK in corporate clothing design is a repeating pattern at Bedford College.
For the past two years HND Fashion & Textiles team claimed the glittering prizes at the national Professional Clothing International Awards (PCIA), and are now shortlisted for the third year in a row with Aimee Hawes, Jade Dore and Ellie Mackinnon who have reached the acclaimed final on June 19th.
Famed designer Vivienne Westwood is once again a judge. Last year, Bedford College student Summer Gill won a work experience opportunity of a lifetime at the international icon’s fashion house together with £1,000 in prize money.
Students from The Bedford College Group benefit from training which combines creativity with practicality – as witnessed by the college’s success in the PCIA where protective clothing has to combine ‘industrial strength’ with wearability.
To get through again to these highly competitive national finals shows how well the Group’s courses prepares young people for work within this world-wide industry.
