Our commitment

The Bedford College Group is committed to continued action in promoting equality, diversity and inclusion by:

  • tackling bullying, harassment and other forms of discrimination;
  • ‘levelling the playing field’ between those people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not share it;
  • fostering good relations between all those involved with the Bedford College Group.

We aim to provide a learning and working environment which values the individual and does not disadvantage people by discriminating on any grounds including age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex (gender) and sexual orientation.

As an organisation, we are aware that discrimination exists in many forms. We expect all our staff and students to ensure that their behaviour is not discriminatory and does not make any person feel uncomfortable. The Bedford College Group will not tolerate harassment, bullying, victimisation or discrimination, and has procedures in place to deal with, and provide support for, individuals involved in such incidents.

The Bedford College Group is a place where people from a range of cultures and backgrounds study and work. We encourage everyone to share their experiences and celebrate the diversity of the College community.
