There are many things that separate college from school but we understand that if you’ve never been, you wouldn’t really know what college really has to offer so we’re going to walk you through it. Here are some things that make college different to school:

More subjects, more choice: From Applied Sciences to Floristry and Engineering to Outdoor Adventure, college offers a wider variety of subjects compared to school. Our facilities and equipment are industry-standard too so you’ll get real life experience during your course.

An independent environment: College is a more mature environment compared to school which is guaranteed to help you become more independent. If you’d like to go to university in a few years’ time, going to college will also result in a smooth transition as both learning environments are similar if not the same.

Meet new friends in a new place: It may be a little worrying if none of your other friends are going to college too but one of the best things about coming to college is making new friends in a new place. You are guaranteed to meet people who have similar interests to you both in the classroom and outside and depending on where you live, you may even have a whole new place to explore.

A stepping stone towards your dream career: Studying at college provides you with a stepping stone into your chosen industry. You’ll get given opportunities to undertake a work placement as part of your study programme and work on live projects set by industry professionals.
