Overview
The Principles of Plant Growth, Health & Applied Propagation RHS Level 3 Certificate (QCF)This qualification provides a route to employment in professional horticulture by assessing knowledge of the scientific principles underpinning horticultural practices, and supports career development for those already working in the profession. It also provides a foundation for further learning or training in the field of horticulture.
We offer tuition from people who have worked in this profession with practical as well as theoretical knowledge. We also offer practical facilities to help illustrate this theoretical course.
Course information
We ask for the RHS level 2 Plant Growth qualification.
- Plant taxonomy, structure, and function
- The root environment, plant nutrition and growing systems
- The management of plant health
- Understanding applied plant propagation
RHS Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Plant Growth, Health and Applied Propagation
Each unit will be assessed by a separate written examination covering all learning outcomes specified in the unit. The examinations will be in February or June.
Course progression: To other parts of the level 3 qualification suite or if these are complete the Level 4 RHS qualification which is studied either by correspondence or by regular unit teaching at Wisley Gardens in Surrey.
Note book, pens and specific literature recommended by the tutor. Camera phones can be used to record practical teaching.

Funding Information
The College offers an instalment plan for Further Education and Higher Education courses to students where the total amount payable at the point of enrolment is £200 or more. Within the scheme there is an ability to pay up to 6 instalments, depending on the length of the courses and the final payment must be paid at least a month before the end of the course.
If you are aged 19 or over you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help you pay the tuition fees for this course. Alternatively, you can pay by instalments to help make the cost of this course more affordable.
