Funding Information

All full-time Level 1 and Level 2 courses are now FREE for everyone, whatever their age. If you are looking to study a Level 3 qualification, courses might still be free if you’re under 19 or 19-23 and studying your first full Level 3 qualification. Whether you need to pay a fee and how much will be dependent on the programme you choose to study. For more information call 0345 658 8990.

If you are aged 19 or over you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help you pay the tuition fees for this course. You can also pay by instalments to help make the cost of this course more affordable.

Entry requirements

Duration: 1 year

3 GCSEs grades 9-3 OR equivalent qualification at Level 1

Duration: 2 years

3 GCSEs grades 9-1 and a keen interest in the subject OR equivalent qualification at Level E3. Other relevant levels of qualification or experience will be considered.

You will learn the basics of the Sport, Public Services and Travel & Tourism industries.

    • Being Organised
    • Researching a Topic
    • Practical Workshop
    • Contributing to the Community
    • Delivering Customer Service
    • Keeping People Active & Healthy
  • English and maths:
    If you don’t already have GCSE English and maths grade A*-C, we will work with you to help you develop your maths and English skills.
  • Work experience:
    You will also carry out 20 hours of work experience.
  • Personal development skills, study skills and employability skills 
  • Additional vocational learning and qualifications
Assessment methods

The majority of your work will be assessed mainly through coursework and assignments. Functional Skills and GCSE Maths and English will also be assessed through formal exams.

Qualifications

You will gain:

Vocational Studies BTEC Level 1 Introductory Diploma

  • Sport BTEC Level 2 First Certificate
  • English & maths qualifications if required
Further study and career options

After completing the two years of the study programme you could progress onto a Level 3 study programme in Sport, Public Services or Travel.

Additional information

You will complete at least 20 hours work experience where you will gain valuable experience to put on your CV.

You will also be given opportunities to learn outside of the classroom to help with team building, working with others and communication.

This course has a £50 cost for course trips.
