Principles of Management and Leadership CMI Level 3 Diploma (Blended Learning)

This course has been developed for supervisors and first line managers who have operational responsibility for a defined area of activity.

The qualification gives junior managers the communication and motivational skills to help improve operational efficiency.

Course information

Entry requirements

You will need:

  • A Level 2 Business-related qualification, OR
  • The ability to demonstrate Level 2 business knowledge through work experience
  • Level 2 English

You will also need to be IT Literate and able to use word processing and presentation software.

Assessment methods

You will be assessed on each unit through any of the following: written account or assignment, report, guide or factsheet, work based evidence and reflective accounts/statements.

Further study and career options

On successful completion of this course and with the relevant work experience you may wish to progress on to the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Level 5 Certificate or Diploma in Management and Leadership.

Additional information

This course is delivered with a blended learning approach. On this course you will be required to attend once a fortnight (schedule provided) for an introduction to CMI resources and the unit requirements. You will then have access to the tutor for tutorials face to face, via email and by telephone. Significant study outside of college hours is essential to be successful on this course.

This a Part-time evening course once every two weeks.

Deadlines are set for submission of assessments. Significant reading and preparation of assignments is required in your own time.

Funding Information

The College offers an instalment plan for Further Education and Higher Education courses to students where the total amount payable at the point of enrolment is £200 or more. Within the scheme there is an ability to pay up to 6 instalments, depending on the length of the courses and the final payment must be paid at least a month before the end of the course.

If you are aged 19 or over and want to achieve your first full Level 3 qualification (equivalent to an advanced technical certificate, diploma or A-Levels) then this course is free, as part of the National Skills Fund.

Part-time Fee Flow Chart

If you are aged 24 or over you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help you pay the tuition fees for this course. Alternatively, you can pay by instalments to help make the cost of this course more affordable.
