This is an industry recognised certificate that could lead to employment as a lash technician or an additional qualification for a current beauty therapist. This comprehensive training course will teach you how to apply, maintain and remove permanent lashes to a professional standard.

Entry requirements
Essential:
Evidence of working at GCSE grade D (3) and above or Level 2 or 3 qualifications in Beauty Therapy or related subjects Good standard of the English language to allow for study and competence of the assignments and consultation.
Desirable:
Good people skills that enhance working with clients. An existing lash & Brow qualification would be an advantage.
Qualifications
- City and Guilds Level 3 Award in Apply Individual Permanent Lashes
- City and Guilds Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Salon
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed in the college’s salons to a required City and Guilds standard. There will be formative (developmental) and summative (final) practical assessments on clients, with either pass, merit or distinction outcomes.
Theory will be assessed through assignments and online multiple-choice exams.
Course content
What will I study?
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Preparation of client including consultation methods & sensitivity testing
- Health & safety requirements for lash application
- Lash preparation, product selection, lash application, positioning & removal techniques
- After-care requirements
- Health and Safety in the salon (if not currently held)
What skills will I gain?
- You will be able to apply and maintain lash extensions
- Have an awareness of the health and safety requirements working in the beauty industry
- You will be able to complete a comprehensive written and verbal consultation with clients

Course progression:
The college offers a wide range of adult hair and beauty qualifications programme. These will enhance existing qualifications and provide and excellent refresher for those wanting to up skill.

N.B. There is a strict mandatory professional dress code to enable assessments to take place. You will need to provide models/clients for your practical sessions.
