OverviewPeople Management Associate Diploma CIPD Level 5
This evidence-based qualification will help you gain a deeper understanding of the professional behaviours that lead to organisational success. Learn how to manage employment relations, foster talent, guide strategic workforce planning and build reward schemes that drive performance and contribute to business success.
A CIPD qualification builds your capability by equipping you with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to make an impact at the relevant level.
You will be working in Human Resources. You will need to be able to demonstrate and use good written and verbal communication skills as well as basic IT skills, particularly use of word, spreadsheet, and presentation packages. Ideally students will hold GCSEs including English GCSE (full qualification) minimum Grade 4 or grade C. If your first language is not English, learners should have a minimum of ESOL Level 2 (or equivalent).
This course is ideal if you have already studied the Level 3 Certificate in Human Resources or People Practice. If you have not studied recently and you are not working in Human Resources, or are in an administrator position, the CIPD Level 3 may be more appropriate as a stepping-stone to Level 5.
You will study the following seven units:
- Organisational performance and culture in practice
- Evidence-based practice
- Professional behaviours and valuing people
- Employment relationship management
- Talent management and workforce planning
- Reward for performance and contribution
- Specialist employment law
CIPD L5 Associate Diploma in People Management.

When you complete your qualification, you’ll be awarded CIPD Associate Membership, and the designation “Assoc CIPD” after your name. This establishes your credibility as a professional, raises your profile and opens doors to new job opportunities.
Learners will need a laptop/desktop with access to the internet. You may wish to purchase CIPD publications written for the course, however, there are some available in the college library.
This course requires substantial self-study time and good time management to meet the course deadlines.
