The Pearson BTEC higher National Certificate in computing is a valuable qualification recognised by industry which allows you to develop your knowledge and skills in computing at a higher level. This course specialises in Network Engineering.

The course forms the first year of the new higher technical qualification in Network Engineering (HND) and can then lead to a BSc (Hons) degree or employment.

You will study a range of units including the specialist computer systems architecture unit, programming, networking, professional practice, database design and development, security, project and website design.

This is the part time option for this qualification where you will study for 1 day per week in college for 2 years to achieve your HNC and then move onto study the HND either full time or part time or try one of the blended options.

GCSEs A*-C/ 9-4 in English and Maths/equivalent Functional skills.


32-48 UCAS tariff points including a computing subject


IT Apprenticeship Level 3


Digital T Level


BTEC Level 3 qualification in computing


An Access to Higher Education Diploma in a Computing or related subject.
