Overview
Music Technology Foundation Degree (FdA) (Full time)This course will nurture and develop core skills in music technology and academia with a focus upon freelance employment in the music industry and higher level critical thinking. Units will explore software skills, composition, recording, mixing, production and business, culminating in a major project in the second year.
A vocational and practical approach to higher education encouraging learners to interact and engage with clients to develop their career in music. Learners will have access to industry standard recording studios and engage in smaller group sizes taught in more traditional classroom environments allowing for greater interaction with staff and peers.
Course information
You will need:
A level 3 or equivalent qualification in music, music technology or related discipline. Suitable vocational experience will also be considered and we welcome applications from mature learners. Candidates will also require a successful interview where they will be required to demonstrate evidence of practical skills within music technology.
A level 2 or equivalent qualification in English. Candidates will be considered if they can provide suitable evidence they are working at that level.

FdA Music Technology
Trips are arranged throughout the year and a range of guest speakers/lecturers are invited in. There is a large emphasis on client engagement for learners to engage in real world work experience meaningful to their chosen career path.
Assignment based – practical, presentation and academic.
