Laboratory Services (T Level)

The T-Level in Science- Laboratory technician offers learners the chance to explore the core concepts of science and apply these to real life working scenarios. As such you will study core scientific concepts, complete an employer set project, undertake work experience in a scientific environment and complete practical activities surrounding your chosen occupational specialism.

As part of the core knowledge and employer set project you will learn key scientific concepts, scientific working practices, scientific methodology, and collection of scientific data, experimental techniques and scientific ethics.

The course offers the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge of the scientific industry and apply these to the working environment

Course content

You will study:

  • Work Placement (40-50 days)
  • Scientific technical knowledge
  • Employer set project
  • Occupational specialism

Work placement

The work placement will provide an opportunity to learn and apply technical skills gained during the qualification. This placement will be within a company or organisation which is within the science sector or delivering scientific skill based services. Learners will be expected to undertake 315 hours of work place learning across the two year program.

Assessment methods

The course will comprise of a number of assessments including externally assessed examinations and projects.

Qualification gained

You will gain:

  • T Level –Science Awarding body NCFE Level 3
