If you have just left school and have a learning difficulty or need extra support to help you improve and develop your independent living skills, this flexible programme will enable you to choose a range of subjects that best suit your individual needs. This course is specifically designed for 16-18 year olds, although, if appropriate, we do consider applications from older students.

During this course you can study a variety of topics depending on your ability and long-term aims, including:
- English and maths
- Independent living skills
- Tutorial and PSHE
- Work preparation
- Undertake a work placement
Most subjects are continually assessed and you will need to keep a portfolio of your work, which will be examined by external verifiers.
This course will significantly increase your options and you may go on to work-based training or continue your education / training at Tresham College.
Students will need to cover the printing costs for work produced, this is estimated to be £20-£30 per academic year.
This is a full-time course which runs for up to three years, dependent on your ability level. The course starts in September of each year and you will need to attend college four days a week.
All full-time Level 1 and Level 2 courses are now FREE for everyone, whatever their age. If you are looking to study a Level 3 qualification, courses are still free if you’re under 19 or 19-23 and studying your first full Level 3 qualification. If you’re over 23 or studying a second Level 3 qualification, you will need to pay a fee.
