Overview

Improvement Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship

Improvement Technicians are responsible for delivery and coaching of improvement activity within an area of responsibility, often associated with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. They can be found across all industry sectors and functions including automotive, banking, engineering, food products, IT, property, retail, telecoms Local and County Councils, NHS, Voluntary / Charity, Utilities, Pharmaceuticals, Insurance, Hospitality etc.

As soon as employment starts.

Course Content

The apprenticeship covers a range of Skills Knowledge and Behaviours.  Whilst studying you will be supported throughout the programme to develop:

  • Knowledge in change management, project management tools, different lean tools as well as different types of analysis required in improvement mapping
  • Skills in defining problems, root cause analysis and compliance
  • Learn to model behaviours like team work and striving for results as well as professionalism

Work will be set via our e portfolio system and a tutor will come out to see you at work and meet via teams regularly to support you during the programme.

Entry requirements

Desirable:

  • Maths Grade 9-4 and English Grade 9-4
What training is required in the workplace?
  • Develop data collection plans

  • Identify and scope improvement projects
  • Plan, manage and implement improvement activities
  • Access to multiple IT packages including MS
  • 20% off the job

Progression to Team Leading Apprenticeship

Career progression:

Potential Full-time employment options on completion, Nearly 2 years in industry experience as well as transferrable skills.  Career role progression to a Team Leader, Compliance Technician, improvement co-ordinator.
