Eyelash & Eyebrow Treatments City & Guilds Level 2 AwardThis is an industry recognised City & Guilds level 2 qualification in providing eyelash and eyebrow treatments. You will learn how to how to tint lashes and brows, shape brows using tweezers and apply temporary false lashes.
This course will prepare you for employment in the beauty industry with an insurable and internationally recognised City and Guilds qualification. The course will consist of attendance to the college’s salons for practical learning and assessment and blended learning at home for theory.

Need to know
Essential:
Evidence of working at GCSE grade D (3) and above Good people skills that enhance working with clients.
Other requirements…
You are either required to complete the City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Health and Safety for the Hair and Beauty Sector or already hold this unit in Health & Safety within the last 3 years (proof will be required).
Good standard of the English language to allow for consultation and assignment competence.

Assessment methods
- Theory is assessed through City and Guilds assignments.
- Practical based assessments on clients/models in the salon.

Course content
What will I study?
- Anatomy & Physiology of the skin and hair
- Preparation of client including consultation methods & sensitivity testing
- Health & safety requirements for eyelash and eyebrow treatments
- Contra Indications to treatment
- How to assess the client’s natural eyebrow and advise them on the most suitable shape
- How to use permanent colour to define brows and lashes
- After-care requirements
- Health and Safety in the salon (if not currently held)
Next steps
Course progression:
This course can lead to self-employment within the Beauty Therapy industry offering a selection of eyelash and eyebrow treatments or enhance current skills as a therapist.
You can progress onto further qualifications within Beauty Therapy.
Additional information
You will be required to purchase a mandatory lash & brow kit, available through the college:
Salon Dress code
- A plain black tunic is required (can be purchased through the college)
- Smart black leggings or trousers
- Enclosed low heeled black shoes (no trainers or pumps)
Home Study
- The course will require self-study at home through our VLE Moodle. You will be completing assignments and there will be an element of practical client case studies required documented through photographic evidence.
NB: you will be required to provide models for your practical assessments.
