Overview
Engineering HNC (Part time)The Engineering Higher National Certificate (HNC) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes will enable you to enhance your understanding of engineering and help your career advancement.
The HNC is for you if you are already working in a technical role within the engineering industry and are looking to obtain a vocational qualification at a higher level to support your position or to progress within your organisation.
If you are a trainee or an apprentice and have already completed your Level 3 in an appropriate engineering discipline then this qualification will equip you with the knowledge and understanding you need to develop your career in general and manufacturing engineering at a higher level.
Course information
2 full A-Levels at grade A*-C in Mathematics and Physics, OR BTEC Level 3 Diploma (120 credits) in General, Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering (at Merit-Merit or above), including Further Maths, OR An equivalent Level 3 qualification (120 credits) in a related Engineering discipline (at Merit or above), including Further Maths. If you do not meet fully meet the above criteria it may be possible to gain entry to the course subject to a successful interview where you will be considered individually on your relevant engineering / industrial experience and engineering knowledge rather than just your qualifications. At interview you may be asked to demonstrate a sound understanding of mathematics and engineering principles.
