Depilatory Waxing CourseAn intensive depilatory waxing course, covering the use and techniques of both hot and warm wax. The qualification covers; anatomy and physiology, the theory of waxing and the professional application of wax to the legs, bikini line, underarm and face. Facial waxing also includes the brows.
This is a professionally certificated City and Guilds course designed to give you the skills and knowledge to be able to professionally perform depilatory waxing services. The course will consist of blended learning through workshops in college and home study on a rolling programme. i.e., one week in college followed by one week home based study.

Need to know
Entry requirements
Essential: 3 x GCSE Grade 3 and above (any subject) or equivalent
Good knowledge of written and spoken English language
N.B A minimum of four clients/models must be provided for each college-based session.
Desirable: A keen interest in professional beauty services.
Qualification
City and Guilds Unit 206 – Remove Hair Using Waxing Techniques.
City & Guilds Unit 202 – Follow Health and Safety Practices in the Salon.
Assessment methods
Practical assessment will take place on models/clients meeting the City & Guilds performance criteria. Written theory assignments meeting the City & Guilds criteria will be set to work on from home.

What will I study?
City and Guilds Unit 206 – Remove Hair Using Waxing Techniques.
City & Guilds Unit 202 – Follow Health and Safety Practices in the Salon.
What skills will I gain?
Consultation and communication skills, knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the hair and skin, the theory of waxing products and the practical techniques required to perform a professional waxing service.

The college offers a wide range of adult hair and beauty qualifications programme. These will enhance existing qualifications and provide and excellent refresher for those wanting to up skill.
