You will cover painting and decorating and wall papering. You will be able to paint walls, ceilings and timber such as doors and skirting board.

We have excellent training facilities and you will be allocated an individual bay where your training and assessments will take place. This allows you to experiment in a unique environment solely for you.

Course content

You will study: 

  • Apply paint by brush and roller
  • Apply standard papers to ceilings and walls
  • Health and safety in a construction environment
  • Erect and dismantling access equipment and work platforms
  • Knowledge of Construction Technology
  • Prepare surfaces for decoration
  • Produce specialist decorative finishes

Grade requirements…

  • GCSE 2/3

Essential:

  • Good attendance at School

Desirable:

  • GCSE 4/5 or above
Qualifications

You will gain: 

  • Level 2 Diploma in Painting and Decorating

Online multiple choice exams – practical assessments and work method write ups.

Funding Information

The College offers an instalment plan for Further Education and Higher Education courses to students where the total amount payable at the point of enrolment is £200 or more. Within the scheme there is an ability to pay up to 6 instalments, depending on the length of the courses and the final payment must be paid at least a month before the end of the course.

If you are aged 19 or over you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help you pay the tuition fees for this course. Alternatively, you can pay by instalments to help make the cost of this course more affordable.
