Overview

Games Development HND (Full time)

This course will enable you to develop 2D and 3D digital skills for concept art, character animation and interface design.

You will work in a purpose built studio equipped with industry standard software tools including Adobe Animate, Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk Maya and Maxon Cinema 4D, Unity and Unreal 4.

Entry requirements

You will need to have successfully completed the HNC course to be able to progress onto the HND.

Course content

The HND will enable you to work with greater independence and autonomy.

Core Modules:

  • Unit 36: Collaborative Project (Pearson-set)
  • Unit 37: Personal Professional Development
  • Unit 15:  Advanced Game Development Studies

Optional Modules:

  • Unit 55: Project Management
  • Unit 61: Advanced 3D Modelling
  • Unit 75 Environment & Level Design
  • Unit 69: Social Media Practice
Assessment methods

These will include Practical Assessment and Coursework

Further study and career options

On successful completion of the HND you can move directly into employment within the 3D modelling or animation industry, or alternatively top-up your qualification to a full Bachelor’s degree with further study at university.

The Games Design pathway could lead to a career in creating Art for Games.
