Overview
Computing HNC (Part time)The Pearson BTEC higher National Certificate in computing is a valuable qualification recognised by industry which allows you to develop your knowledge and skills in computing at a higher level.
The course forms the first year of the new higher technical qualifications (HNDs) in Applications Development or General Computing and can then lead to a BSc (Hons) degree or employment.
You will study a range of units including, programming, networking, professional practice, database design and development, security, project software and website design.
This is the part time option for this qualification where you will study for 1 day per week in college for 2 years to achieve your HNC and then move onto study the HND either full time or part time or try one of the blended options.
Students will benefit from our excellent cutting-edge computing facilities, small student groups and extremely supportive, industry-experienced teaching staff.
By completing this course, students will achieve an industry-recognised HNC, which will enhance career prospects and your employability.

An Access to Higher Education Diploma in a Computing or related subject.

It may be possible to gain additional vendor qualifications for example Cisco and CompTIA.
100% assessed through written and practical assessment.
On successful completion of this course, you can apply to study an additional year at Bedford College to gain a full BSc (Hons) degree, progress to a university, or you can enter employment.
