The course will focus on the practical and theoretical elements of beauty therapy. There will be lessons dedicated to the practical treatments and classroom-based activities. You will be set homework assignments as well as dedicate time for practising your new skills.
- Evidence of working at GCSE grade 3 (D) and above or
- Any Level 2 qualification
- A good standard of written and spoken English to allow for study and competence for the online examinations.
- It is also desirable that you have good people skills that enhance working with clients
You will study:
- Anatomy and physiology
- Working in beauty related industries
- Health and safety
- Client care and communication
- Promote products and services to clients
- Provide facial skincare
- Apply make-up
- Shaping and colouring eyebrows
- Provide manicure treatments
- Provide pedicure treatments
- Facial care for men
Theory exams are via City & Guilds EVOLVE on line assessments (ICT based) Practical based assessments.
You can progress onto further qualifications e.g. Level 3 Beauty Therapy, Massage Therapies
This course can lead to employment as a Level 2 Beauty Therapist
You will be required to purchase:
- Folder and clip board and note pad and pen for note taking.
- A uniform is required approx. £50

The College offers an instalment plan for Further Education and Higher Education courses to students where the total amount payable at the point of enrolment is £200 or more. Within the scheme there is an ability to pay up to 6 instalments, depending on the length of the courses and the final payment must be paid at least a month before the end of the course.
If you are aged 19 or over you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help you pay the tuition fees for this course. Alternatively, you can pay by instalments to help make the cost of this course more affordable.Find out more
