Applied Science Forensic HNC (Part time)What food is good for you? Why is blood red? How is disease transmitted? How do animals reproduce? What molecules are in your food? How does the environment work? If you are asking questions like this and have a keen interest in biology, this course could be just for you.
This is a widely recognised and highly valued applied science qualification that enables you to develop a range of higher-level specialist technical skills and knowledge, enabling students to meet the demands of employers in the science sector and to adapt to a constantly changing world. This programme is a specialist pathway, designed to support progression into the forensics field.
Students will benefit from our excellent science facilities, small student groups and extremely supportive, industry-experienced teaching staff. By completing this course, students will achieve an industry-recognised HNC, which will enhance career prospects and your employability.

Entry requirements
Essential:
- GCSEs 9-4 in English and Maths/equivalent Functional skills
AND
- 32-48 UCAS tariff points including a Science subject OR
- Science Apprenticeship Level 3 OR
- Science T Level OR
- BTEC Level 3 qualification in Applied Science OR
- An Access to Higher Education Diploma in Science or related subject
What qualification will I gain?
Pearson BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Applied Science (Forensics Science).
How will I be assessed?
Students will be 100% assessed through written and practical assessment.

Course progression:
On successful completion of this course, you can apply to study an additional year on the HND Applied Science (Forensics Science).
