Bedford College Open Day FAQ's

Is there parking available on-site?

We have limited number of free parking available at our Bedford College, Cauldwell Street campus and it is on a first come first serve basis.

There are a number of public pay and display car parks within short walking distance of our Bedford College, Cauldwell Street Campus. Some of these are free of charge after 6.00pm but please check the information boards upon arrival. Please note, The Bedford College Group are not liable for any parking charges.

Some nearby car parks include:

St Mary’s Gardens Car Park, Cauldwell Street, Bedford MK42 9AH (access is between Bedford Borough Hall and Bedford College). Chargeable hours 8.00am till 6.00pm.

River Street Car Park, 14 River Street, Bedford MK40 1PX. Chargeable hours 24 hours.

Where do I go when I arrive at the College?

You will be greeted by a member of staff upon arrival at the College. They will direct you to the correct building based on the subjects you’re interested in.

What Covid-19 regulations do you have in place?

All visitors who will be attending our Open Day must wear a face covering unless exempt. We are also advising visitors to take a rapid lateral flow test 24 hours before arriving at the College. If you or a member of your family are showing symptoms, please do not attend our Open Day; we will be hosting more Open Days throughout the academic year.

What can I do at an Open Day?

Whether you’ve already applied or have no idea what you want to study yet, our Open Days are perfect for you! You can get a real feel of student life. Tutors will be on hand to explain in depth about our courses and our Student Services Team will also be there to offer advice on careers, transport, finance, wellbeing and more. You can also take advantage of our campus tours on the evening.

What subject areas will be represented?

Every subject area we offer at the College campus will be represented at our Open Days.

If you are interested in studying Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy at Bedford College, please go over to Brooks Hair & Beauty Salon, 85 High Street, Bedford MK40 1NE.

If you are interested in studying Motor Vehicle at Bedford College, please head over to our Advanced Automotive Technology Centre on Brunel Road, Bedford MK41 9TJ

What if I want to study A-Levels, do Bedford College offer them?

If you wish to study A-Levels, then we recommend registering for The Bedford Sixth Form’s Open Day. Visit here for more information www.bedfordsixthform.ac.uk/events

What if I’m deaf/hard of hearing?

Please contact marketing@bedford.ac.uk prior to the event if this is something you require.

Do I have to be there for the duration of the event?

Of course not! When registering you will need to select a session time that is convenient for you. We are working in sessions to help with queue management and to try to maintain social distancing where possible.

How do I apply for a course?

You can apply on the night in one of our applications hubs or online on our website for all of our courses and our team will be there to support with how to do this.

Do I have to register to be able to come?

No, however, we strongly advise pre-registering for the event to help us manage the numbers of visitors on-site at any one time.

Does my entire family have to register?

No, only prospective students are required to register to attend an Open Day. We are limiting the number of guests to two guests per prospective student to manage our visitors on-site at any one time and to keep everyone as safe as possible.
